The Snake plant (aka Sansevieria) has many different names. Some you may have heard are Mother-in-Law's tongue, Devil's Tongue, Bow String Hemp.

There are roughly 70 different species of snake plants, and they're also considered part of the Dracaena plant family.

Did you know...

      • In Africa, some species are used to make fibre ropes. They also have used the sap for its antiseptic qualities for healing and first aid.
      • The snake plant has been thought of as a money plant and brings luck and fortune to its owner. A great gift idea for someone buying a new home or opening a new business.
      • The snake plant is one of the top for air purifying. We recommend it for bedrooms to improve the air while you're sleeping.

Care

The snake plant grows in hot, dry climates. So it doesn’t take much watering or care.

Place in a spot with either low light or bright light, and it will thrive.

The snake plant is a succulent which means it is drought tolerant. So err on the side of caution when watering. Less is more with snake plants!

Elora St. Flowers' recommends watering once a month!
